Things you love about your town:Martinez, Georgia is next to Augusta, Georgia known as the “Garden City”. If you love azaleas and dogwoods in the spring time, along with flowering Bradford Pear trees, the list goes on and on you will feel like you stepped into a spring time fantasy wonderland here. Once those have stopped blooming, local businesses landscape with flowers that bloom all summer until frost. Convenient to shopping and medical. Tell us about your neighborhood: We live in a quiet cul de sac and have known our friendly neighbors for a long time. No need to worry when you go on vacation because good neighbors watch the house for you and even water plants in the window boxes! I have such friendly neighbors Amanda has always taken care of the hummingbird feeders for us when we go on vacation. Because we are in a cul de sac there is very little traffic.

What did you love about your property when you bought it? The front porch is the kind you can sit on and enjoy as it is deep and wide covered in shade. While sitting on the front porch sipping iced tea the birds are singing. The big oak trees offer plenty of shade and privacy. The 18′ x 36′ in ground swimming pool my children loved while they were growing up and many a weekend was spent with their friends sleeping over and using the pool. The pool was our vacation in our own back yard in the summer. Many an evening we spent together around the fire pit making smores as the stars came out! If you are a bird lover this house and property are a bird lovers dream. We have two blue bird houses and one is occupied right now with a family of bluebirds.
Because there are so many perennial flowers we have an abundance of tiger swallowtail butterflies. All kinds of butterflies and hummingbirds are drawn to the back yard. We have lantana in orange and yellow, gold lantanta, purple lantana, rudebekia or black eyed susan, bachleors button, portulaca, poppies, the list goes on and on. These plants were picked specifically for our climate, heat resistant and drought resistant and come back every year. In the front yard we have pink azaleas and blue hydrangeas. Window boxes filled with impatiens. The fire place is very large and we have spent cold winter days eating a bowl of chili next to the fire watching television. This is a good place to raise a family. The only reason we are leaving is to be with our grandchildren out of state.
